Sixth Chakra: Ajna

third eye chakraCONSIDER: Just as you might go to the GYM to tone your body & build MUSCLE, your sense of intuition can be HONED & brought to potential through MEDITATION, yoga and spiritual practices. Honing a connection & maintaining relationship with your own higher wisdom offers the ability to cut through ILLUSION and receive information from realms beyond what can be detected by your five physcial senses.

WHY IT MATTERS: This chakra, when operating in health, allows us to be in communication with universal knowledge & ensures that we SEE things CLEARLY & make decisions with a sense of neutrality.

IMBALANCE: Can appear as indecisiveness, INSOMNIA, mental fog, being judgmental or living primarily in a fantasy world while being out of touch with reality.

THIRD EYE CHAKRA: Our sixth chakra rules over wisdom, IMAGINATION, intuition, intellect and our own connection with inner guidance. It is the energy center related to spiritual awareness and mindfulness. It is also the area from which we’re able to observe & then form perceptions & make conscious decisions. Just as our five physical senses provide tremendous clues for us in life, when we choose to nurture our sense of INTUITION we offer ourselves the potential to expand our abilities to observe situations not just physically, but also psychically.

PRACTICE: Rub your hands together until they begin to build up heat and then CUP them over your eyes, leaving a SPACE between so that the area between you eyebrows is still exposed. Imagine a deep INDIGO blue light in this area and allow your muscles around your brow bone to RELEASE and relax. Breathe in and out, focusing on this blue light.
