This week we’re learning about and dancing through the energy of the solar plexus chakra. The solar plexus chakra is found in the space just above your belly button and below the bottom of your sternum—your belly area.
The dance related to the solar plexus chakra is connected with our personal power and yang consciousness. We call on warrior style music with roots in ancient Greece, Morocco, Spain, Mexico and Brazil to connect with strong, purposeful, defined movements.
This week I’ve felt overwhelmed and like I need to hibernate. This feeling has been affecting my ability to focus and has caused a general sense of unease. The anxiety is centered mostly in my chest and solar plexus and I’ve been practicing trying to just relax and release into the sensations.
This week is highlighting just how connected my heart and stomach are. I’m realizing that to experience a healthy appetite for food and to feel open and excited about interacting with other people, I need both of these areas to feel safe and balanced.
So excited to continue learning and reading about chakra healing and meditative dance styles so that I can share it with all of you.
