sanskrit mantras

By September 9, 2013 No Comments

Sometimes, when my mind is especially chatty or bouncing around during meditation, I’ll choose one of these Sanskrit mantras to repeat silently to help keep my mind free of wandering thoughts.

Om ~ The universal sound that honors our connection to the universe.

So hum ~ I am.

Sham ~ Connects us to our wisdom and inner knowing.

Om Vardhanam Namah ~ I nourish the universe and the universe nourishes me.

Om Bhavam Namah ~ I am absolute existence. I am a field of all possibilities.

Sat Chit Ananda ~ Existence, consciousness, bliss.

Yum ~ Healing sound that resonates with the heart center.

Om Varunam Namah ~ My life is in harmony with cosmic law.

Om Ritam Namaha ~ My intentions and desires are in alignment with and supported by the rhythm of the universe.

Om Anandham Namah ~ My actions are blissfully free from attachment to outcome.

Aham Brahmasmi ~ The core of my being is the ultimate reality, the root and ground of the universe, the source of all that exists.
