I signed up for one month of hot yoga classes at Moksha Yoga. I was definitely intimidated going in for my first class, and even got there 15 minutes early to lie in the practice room before class to get used the the heat.
The room is somewhere in the 100 degree range and I lasted through all poses for the first 60 minutes or so. During the last 15 minutes, I had to lie down because I was getting a bit overwhelmed with the heat and sweat and blood rushing to my head.
That being said, I felt really excited about going to my second class, which I made through with no stopping (only 60 minutes.) And afterwards, I started to feel addicted to it. Actually I started feeling pangs of addiction during the first class on that first day.
Just knowing that you’re withstanding the heat and feeling the sweat drench your clenched muscles is really a wonderful feeling. It feels like you’re just melting away stress and anger and bullshit.
It feels really good.
I have my next class tomorrow morning 🙂
